A young lad when incorporated into the Skyward Scholars, his natural abilities were so great that he was fated to eventually become a Archmage. Offering fresh alternatives to the bogged down process of quickly finding a solution to the Kendlar threat, Mendius lobbied for harnessing the Infernal Power of the Nether. Under pressure from the King to quickly acquire an answer, the mature members unwisely supported Mendius. Mendius drive towards the Infernal path gave the Cauldron Empire the Nether Field as subsequently the Eternals.
Mendius was outraged that after all the good his arcane powers had done, the King was going to disband the Scholars and return to a life of pride in sweat and blood. Feeling betrayed, and acting believing to be acting for the good of the people, Mendius started a coup to stop the King’s orders. An ensuring battle took place known as The Long Night in which after being greatly outnumbered, Mendius calls for a retreat of the Eternals. His plan backfires though when the Infernal powers transform his ritual into a summoning one in which he would be the sacrificial host.
Although many assume his death was immediate when the demon spawned, some believe his soul is trapped as well with the fiend.
